The two sessions of our Collectibles auction this year comes from various collections, but a large

part of it features the so-called “Ambassador’s Collection”. Although the late Emil Schamberger was

never an official ambassador, his love for Chinese art made him known to be an ambassador of

Chinese art. His collection, which includes ceramics, paintings, decorative items, and books, comes
from years of collecting, throughout his colorful life. We hope that collectors of today can also

experience his joy of collecting by becoming the new owners of his collection. They are offered

in both of the two sessions of our Collectibles auction: lots #001-090 in the first auction and lots

#201-300 in the second session.

Apart from the “Ambassador’s Collection”, we have selected various items that we feel would be
appealing to our customers. They originate from numerous collectors who have meticulously chosen

the pieces to acquire, kept and cared for over the years.

In the first session, there are Javanese antique furniture including chairs, tables, chest and

cabinets, Javanese batik, Chinese and European decorative items and dining utensils. The session is

highlighted by a set of Puspa Ningrat batik tulis cloths (for a couple) (lot #099), a pair of Peranakan

Chinese carved armchairs (lot # 110), A Chinese reticulated silver belt with kilin ornaments(lot #123),
and a Vietnamese hardwood bed, with mother of pearl and inlaid marble decorations (lot #129).

Various ceramic, furniture and decorative items can also be found in the second session. The

session is highlighted by a carved teak tripod table (lot #311), a brown storage jar (lot # 320), a

wooden and iron barber’s chair upholstered with imitation leather, with adjustable seat (lot # 354),

sets of brass kinangan (lots #326 & 327), and a Peranakan Chinese altar table carved with stylized
cloud apron on four straight legs (lot #353). The auction concludes with a Balinese Dewi Sri kepeng

coin statue (lot #356) and a brown gilt teakwood Peranakan Chinese carved bed with interior rack

(lot #358).

We hope that you will be able to join us during the previews to view the various items that are

being offered (please contact us for the preview times), and then ultimately during the auctions

on Sunday, 8 October & 22 October 2017 to bid on the items you desire. The viewings and the
auctions, which will be held at Galeri Nusantara, the art gallery of the late renowned businessman

and art collector Robby Djohan, in the Executive Paradise complex on Jl. Pangeran Antasari, South

Jakarta, will certainly be a delightful experience for everyone. Each and every person are entitled

to their own tastes, and we hope that among the lots that are offered in this auction, there will be

something for every collector, new, seasoned and even veteran collectors.

We hope that you will enjoy the auctions.

Happy viewing and joyful bidding!
