May edition of ArtFordable & Future Vintage auction is presenting 92 lots, and what is special for this auction, together with Yayasan Mitra Museum Jakarta (YMMJ), we conduct fundraising charity auction -- “Arts in Daily Life”; the proceed will go to YMMJ. There are 10 artistic lots, including four custom design cover of OPPO mobile phones. You can find the charity lots in the last section of this catalog. The winning bidders of charity auction will not be charged for buyer’s premium.
The auction begins with paintings by Indonesian emerging artists, such as Mulyana Silihtonggeng in LOVE, portraying a flock of pink Flamengo, with two flamingos at the front forming a symbol of love. Another is Ermy Herfika with Jenggala, that means jungle forest, she puts it in bright colors, making the jungle in a perspective that is pleasing to everyone, and Zabusa, Point of Sincerity.
If you are seeking the artwork of senior artists of Indonesia, two of the highlights are Hassan Pratama in Abstract #2. He displays what he feels and desires with great expressiveness and spontaneity. In this work, he describes the fields dominated by the bright green color. Meanwhile, the distinctive pattern in his work, that consists of several contrasting colors appear to be stacked so full and tightly on the upper plane. It projects the impression of giving great spirit or energy to this work.
As one of our selected works by the late artists of Indonesia, we highlight Nyoman Gunarsa, with the Dancer. His paintings are among the most dynamic and expressive portrayal of women in Balinese art. What distinguishes him from other Balinese artists is his highly individual expressive and dynamic style of painting, which he developed since 1970. His paintings are composed of various brushstrokes. It seems that initially they are broad and flat to create shapes or volumes. Then, later, they become more rapid and energetic to accentuate edges and indicate movement. The women in Nyoman's paintings become a vehicle through which he expresses his own explosive artistic energy.
Our vintage collections offers Qing 18th – 19th century Chinese molded celadon with glazed tripod censer, 20th century Japanese modern polychrome bucket form vase and vintage Burmese zodiac sign wall decoration that comes with frame. We also have a carved teak writing desk and a modern teak wood side table. Retro never goes out of style, and this one is a unique teak cabinet of drawers.
